Random question from my sleepy morning brain: If a Yeerk, but not it's human host, is nervous, does the host's heart beat faster? Without the Yeerk doing it on purpose, I mean. (Specifying human because who knows how aliens react to being nervous even when they aren't Controlled).
I think the answer is "yes," that a yeerk's nervousness would make the host's heart speed up, mostly based on things Jake describes Tom's body doing at various points in the series:
He was making no effort to pretend to actually be Tom... His fists were clenched at his side, his jaw seemed to tighten so that the words could barely force their way past bared teeth. I'd seen Tom this way once, just once, when he'd been wrongly accused of cheating on a test. — #53
"What?" Tom's eyes bulged in shock. "Tuesday? Dad, no way! Four days? I can't stay away for four days!" "You can and you will," my father said, losing his patience. "We're going as a family and that's final." Tom's throat worked. — #31
I heard a sound that was strange because it was so normal. It was laughter. Human laughter. The humans... the Human-Controllers — because that's what they were — were laughing, like they were at some kind of a show [Elfangor's death]. For a moment it seemed to me that one of those laughing voices was familiar... —#1
[Temrash 114 implies that if Jake joins the Sharing, then he'll get out of having to do homework. Jake points out that that makes no sense.] Tom considered for a moment. He blinked and kind of looked away, almost like he was embarrassed. "No. I don't want you thinking that," he admitted. "Tell you what, though, come to the meeting and I'll help you do the homework when we get home." — MM4
So that's not absolute proof of the autonomic nervous system responding to the yeerk, but I'd say there's evidence that Tom's body shows automatic responses that are clearly yeerk-origin. Like, that has to be the yeerk flinching in MM4 because Jake called out his mistake in pretending to be human — Tom has no reason to flinch like that. And it has to be the yeerk being visibly shocked and afraid at the idea of a four-day vacation in #31 — again, there's no reason for Tom to feel that way, and there's no reason to fake that reaction because it makes no sense for Tom to be scared of four days away from civilization.

yk as your local golden ratio enjoyer, i thought most of my brainrot from this event would be from the re-use of the daring wager consumable, or the fact that there's two decorations for ratio and aventurine
but i think i wanna bring something else to light
this ducky. it showed up next to dr ratio's notebook, so obviously there's a double confirmation that the ducky is related to him too.
we know that dr ratio loves baths because they clear his mind of clutter and filth...but does that cleaning and peace of mind make it all too quiet for him? does the quiet remind him of how quiet his surroundings are? does the crushing pain of not fitting in eat at him? does the reminder that no one truly understands him hurt that bad? does he regret the distance between him and the world?
#he's lonely while lounging somewhere where being alone is the norm for most people...#maybe i'm reaching but i don't think so...#cus like. so far pretty much every object has been either related to a person or a place#and the only thing related to a duckie is dr ratio#so i don't think making a correlation like that is a wrong read or something yk?#Dr Ratio#Honkai Star Rail#2.7 spoilers#hsr dr ratio#hsr ratio

Why is the Henry Stickmin to Object Shows/Object Shows to Henry Stickmin pipeline real actually
#ant's screaming into the void#osc#henry stickmin#like I used to be SUPER into thsc. and now I'm into object shows#and looking at the current thsc fandom it seems to be a lot of object show fans#what is the correlation here. why do people so consistently get into both fandoms at one point

Heyy, just wanted to inform you date everything isn't free and the pre-orders are already out! There's a pre-purchase promo with an early bird dlc. Anyway I followed you for tadc so I got a bit jumpscared when you started posting about my newest obsession omg
HAHAH as a formerly selfshipping aroace, of course a game about dating all the objects around your house (with amazing designs and voices) would catch my attention
Plus two selfshippers I follow were already posting about it
But that's quite alright. There is TONS of stuff in this game and it seems like it'll be top quality too, so I totally understand
#💌 rory answers#I don't know if there's an actual correlation between being aroace and interested in fictional characters#but my pal Jer is the same way so. I figured there was#well then I can just. get someone to buy it for me on Steam in exchange for art. probably while it's pre-orderable since that's cheaper#I've already watched Scandalabra and Fantima's videos and Fantima is SO cute omg. love her#I need to befriend her so bad#what a strange freaky yet oddly flattering notion that there is a fanclub of me made up of my household objects. obsessed#and Scandalabra matches my expectations. cunty cunty man#love that he insists on us speaking eloquently while bitching the pot#date everything#the FIRST time I heard about this game was in connection to the rubber ducky Amanda Hufford voices. few months back#interested in that creature as well#because ost of them look more or less human (not counting Sinclair- er MARTIN) but that person is straight up a rubber duck#that is punk#love that for them

"['Leaving the City'] has the rhyme at the end of each line and the internal rhymes that follow one meter, and a secondary set of internal rhymes that sort of quietly annunciate a contrary meter that's overlaid on the first meter." She also said she "overlaid a contrary musical meter" on top of all that, and that I had to be "conscious of the sublimated contrary meter in order to trace the rhyme." The rhyme scheme for that song was so complicated that she had to create a chart to trace it: "I had a little key," she said. "So there was like a crescent moon and a square and a heart and a diamond representing the different considerations. The heart represents this one particular consideration of rhyme, the diamond represents a different consideration of rhythm, and here's the secondary rhyme and here's the tertiary rhyme. Sometimes they would overlap, and that was a fun little puzzle. I'd have to go back and change what led up to it for all the different imperatives to agree." ...I asked Newsom why she goes to the trouble of constructing such elaborate musical structures. "The thing is, I don't know why," she said. "But... I do have a real belief that the exact right word—in terms of conveying meaning as efficiently and correctly and concisely as possible—will also be the word that agrees in terms of rhyme, musical weight, syllabic weight, beauty, and elegance. I think that words are magical. All of that effort is all about uncovering the word that is just sitting there waiting for you, and when you find it, it's like the equivalent of watching your team get a touchdown. It's just like WHOA. And you run in circles and say, 'Fuck yeah!'"
– Rich Smith, from "The Deeper You Dive, the More There Is to Joanna Newsom's Music" (x)

Similarities between Japanese and Persian:
SOV word order
closed class of true verbs + heavy use of light verbs
-o as an accusative marker
lots of phonetic [ʃt] or [ɕt]
#granted the verb thing correlates with SOV word order anyway#and I believe râ is more common than -o as an object marker in persian#linguistics#knee hone go

was tidying up some old stuff in my room and found the decorative ballet shoes that I used to hang by my door
Immediately made me think of Val 🥺

Okay, weekend of moping is over, time to begin the week of self improvement!
#they're not like 100% correlated#because I'm not sure any amount of self improvement would have fixed this#but if I don't do something to knock me out of this rut i am going to live here for longer than is tolerable#and i have a list of things I've been meaning to do for ages#many of which will help with the eventual 'new girlfriend' objective#because there were a lot of things in this past arrangement that were perfect to match where i was#but there's no reason i have to stay where i was if it wasn't working#(for non girlfriend reasons that just also make that worse )

Objectober 2024 Day 13 - "Headcanon"
The most non-cannon post of objectober, because it's basically how I came up with Koi Fish. Because of this today's is just a doodle.

When you're the creator you control everything, except for the control you give to others.

Aizawa canonically getting so blackout drunk that he doesn't even remember drinking when he wakes up the next day, and has thus convinced himself that he just Never Gets Drunk Ever is by far the funniest thing the light novels ever gave us by the way because it implies his friends have either never bothered to tell him what he's like when he's drunk or that they have tried to tell him and Aizawa just refuses to listen/believe them
#bnha#aizawa shouta#everyone focuses on him talking to inanimate objects#and nobody ever focuses on how fucking funny it is that he's convinced he's just immune to getting drunk#[aizawa voice] clearly my drinking habits and lack of memory of the night's events have absolute no correlation whatsoever

so chat does this mean people making fanfics abt p3do interactions and other downright atrocious crimes known to humanity is just… acceptable bc it’s “not what you’d do irl” how the fk did this get on my timeline bro. wtv just read the tags
I really think everyone needs to truly internalize this:
Fictional characters are objects.
They are not people. You cannot "objectify" them, because they have no personhood to be deprived of. They have no humanity to be erased. You cannot "disrespect" them, because they are not real.
#do actually police ur thoughts#pls actually realize that bad that’d do correlate with bad actions#people create the most heinous fictional creations bc they know they’d be shamed irl#heinous fictional crimes would have them executed irl#yes u can read bad fiction or wtv but normalizing it being ok is different#saying u can write a noncon tentacle fanfic and be a fierce anti-SH warrior is like.#DIRECTLY contradictory and hypercritical#fiction is based off the realities we experience day to day#no it isn’t real but it takes inspo from our lives our existence#so no it isn’t rlly an object and yes it does reflect on the nonfictional world we live in#do better guys#fandom#fandom culture#shipping
